Established in 2015, the Scott D. & Rochelle Morris Matinee Fund supports the Merryman Performing Arts Center to annually present diverse local, regional, and nationally touring performances of theatre, music and dance for Kearney area K-12 students. In addition, these funds help support the opportunities for children and their parents and grandparents to attend family and youth-oriented performances by providing reduced price tickets.

Emmy Award Winning Songwriter and Kearney native, Jim Salestrom, will be reuniting his band Timberline for a 50th Anniversary Tour through Nebraska and performing at the Merryman. Jim will be performing a matinee concert for the elementary students.

Stunt Dog Experience

During “Stunt Dog Experience” students will enjoy incredible stunts and behaviors performed by rescued dogs. Amazing tricks, big air stunts, comedy antics, dancing dogs, and athletic feats!

The artists will talk about how to care for dogs and why it is so valuable to have them as well as the benefits of rescuing an animal. The Merryman will be partnering with the Kearney Animal Shelter and information about their mission will be shared prior to the performance.
