Established in 2015, the Scott D. & Rochelle Morris Matinee Fund supports the Merryman Performing Arts Center to annually present diverse local, regional, and nationally touring performances of theatre, music and dance for Kearney area K-12 students. In addition, these funds help support the opportunities for children and their parents and grandparents to attend family and youth-oriented performances by providing reduced price tickets.

The Annie Moses Band

Emmy nominated and Nashville-based Annie Moses Band is a classical cross-over ensemble of six siblings, known for their virtuosic string playing, eclectic vocals and diverse arrangements. Students can expect to hear Copeland, Johnny Cash, Gershwin and many other American icons!

Terrance Simien

Leading his five piece, highly skilled and well-traveled, Zydeco Experience Band, two-time Grammy award winning artist Terrance Simien has been engaging audiences for nearly 30 years.

Creole for Kidz & the History of Zydeco is centered on the history and evolution of this unique American roots music genre. Zydeco is the traditional music French speaking Creoles of south Louisiana.

Dino-Light!

Monday, Feb 24  10am  &  1pm

In this original storyline, a famous scientist with magic powers brings a friendly dinosaur to life. When the dinosaur wanders away from home, he discovers a wonderful world full of creatures that light up the darkness and help him find the true meaning of love.

This glow-in-the-dark adventure is visually amazing and has been praised for its cutting-edge blend of puppetry, technology and dance by audiences all over the world.

Stunt Dog Experience

Tuesday, April 7  10am & 1pm

During “Stunt Dog Experience” students will enjoy incredible stunts and behaviors performed by rescued dogs. Amazing tricks, big air stunts, comedy antics, dancing dogs, and athletic feats!

The artists will talk about how to care for dogs and why it is so valuable to have them as well as the benefits of rescuing an animal.  The Merryman will be partnering with the Kearney Animal Shelter and information about their mission will be shared prior to the performance.
